The approx archive proxy that I wrote includes the utility "gc_approx", which garbage-collects its cache by verifying sizes and checksums agaiings Packages/Sources files, and also removes .debs that are unreachable from those files. It would require only a little modification to run on a real archive, rather than approx's cache.
