By the way, isn't debian-devel an off-topic place for this discussion? I have nothing against the content of it, but would recommend to keep things organised. Otherwise, instead of fragmenting on topics, we fragment into communauties. (For instance, is there any reason why debian-release became a discussion list without formal notification?)
