There was a large discussion about debpool and debarchiver, involving
Joel, Ola and several users/code writers. If you are interested, I can
send you the discussion.

Just a suggestion: Ask him to create a project on alioth and add you to
the project. The last time I heard of him, he didn't want to let debpool
die, but lacked time. Did you try to contact him directly?

popcon doesn't show many installations, but the discussion showed, that
there were several people having interest in debpool/debarchiver.
