Build failure: cannot find -lglib-2.0

A number of packages currently fail to build with:
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lglib-2.0

Can someone please investigate whether this is a bug in those packages
or some underlying problem and file bugs.  I've put some buid logs at
