There are 60 sourceless blobs that we would potentially redistribute in main depending on the outcome of this discussion. This depends on the answer to two questions: does the project consider it ok to include sourceless firmware in main, and does the ftp team believe it's ok to distribute sourceless firmware that is claimed to be under the GPL? Only the first question belongs to debian-vote, and it's one we should try to get answered regardless of the answer to the second -- because for those 53 other pieces of firmware, if the ftpmasters *do* decide we need a better license, the most likely outcome of contacting upstreams would be that they give us a better license and *still* don't give us the source.
