That page has compression and decompression speeds, putting 7zip at about 40% slower than bzip2 and 90% slower than gzip. The decompression speed of 7zip is better than bzip2 but still nothing to write home about. Anyone know a good heuristic for measuring bang for buck for compression algorithms?
