libpng2 and libpng10 are gone. This has caused quite a lot of uninstallable packages which either need new uploads or removal (listed below). In addition, imlib1 and gdk-imlib1 exist solely for libpng10 support (imlib11 is essentially the same upstream for libpng12) and will presumably be removed.
Furthermore, the plan is to remove GNOME 1 entirely, as noted at: http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome/2005/06/msg00025.html If your package depends on one of these and you wish to keep it in Debian, please convert it to libpng12 and/or imblib11 and/or libimlib2 and/or GNOME 2, so that it not depend on any of the above. :-P If your package is a GNOME 1 package, please consider filing a bug with ftp.debian.org requesting the removal of your package from unstable. (Gtk 1.2 will remain for now since it doesn't depend on gdk-imlib1.) Is a mass bug filing warranted? :-P Packages in unstable which depend directly on libpng2: printbill Packages in unstable which depend directly on libpng10: amaya dillo gdk-imlib1 gif2png gnome-iconedit gnotepad+ imlib1 libart-ruby1.6 libgdk-pixbuf2 libgnome-ruby1.6 libgtkxmhtml-perl libgtkxmhtml1 liblablgtk-ocaml matanza mozart-gtk pixelize python-gnome-1.2 stereograph tuxpuck xnecview Packages in unstable which depend directly on imlib1, which depends directly on libpng10 (and will be removed, coming as it does from the "imlib+png2" package, but can be replaced with libpng11 by doing a rebuild): libepplet-dev mozart-gtk pixelize vertex Packages in unstable which depend directly on gdk-imlib1, which depends directly on libpng10 (and will be removed, coming as it does from the "imlib+png2" package -- and it can't be replaced directly with anything in the archive): amaya bacula-console-gnome bitchx-gtk bombermaze bonobo bonobo-conf cantus coriander cronosii dfm directory-administrator drip e16keyedit e16menuedit eboard entity extace fidelio fpm fvwm fvwm-gnome gabber gaby gb gbatnav gbib gco gdk-imlib1-dev gfax gfontview gfpoken gfslicer gipsc glimmer glotski gmanedit gmgaclock gmoo gnobog gnoise-gnome gnome-bin gnome-breakout gnome-chess gnome-find gnome-iconedit gnome-lokkit gnome-pim gnome-think gnomekiss gnomermind gnomp3 gnotepad+ gnucash gpgp gphotocoll gpr gpredict groach gsmartcard gtk-engines-pixmap gtk-engines-qtpixmap gtkgo gtkhtml gtkodbcconfig0 gtktalog gtoaster gupsc imlib-progs libgal23 libgb0 libgdk-imlib-ruby1.6 libgdk-pixbuf-gnome2 libglade-bonobo0 libglade-gnome0 libglade-ruby1.6 libgnome-perl libgnome-print-perl libgnome-ruby1.6 libgnomemm1.2-9c2 libgnomeprint-bin libgnomeprint15 libgnomeui32 libgtk-canvas1 libgtk-imlib-perl libgtkhtml1.1-3 libgtkimreg0 liblablgtk-ocaml libzvt2 lightlab lletters mathwar mozart-gtk multi-gnome-terminal nethack-gnome paul pimppa pixelize plplot9-driver-gnome powershell python-gdk-imlib-1.2 python-gnome-1.2 qiv r-omegahat-rgtk sanduhr scigraphica sgcontrol smilutils snac soundtracker spacechart swami telegnome terraform transcalc wmkbd xemacs21-gnome-mule xemacs21-gnome-mule-canna-wnn xemacs21-gnome-nomule xgsmlib xwine xzgv yank ygraph -- Nathanael Nerode <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> This space intentionally left blank. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
