Sure. I can type with my toes using windows and putty too.

But you can forget your usb rescue stick or misplace your rescue
cd. Can't happen to / and for the most parts that is enough to rescue
the system or dd | netcat a backup to another host.

I used it often enought to not want to miss it the next time.
