Your ability to ask for features in the software programs that you use is one of the advantages of libre/free software. You can file a bug report at the debian site or with the bug tool for a new feature. You can also contact the debian maintainer and the original developer about this. Their info should be availble. But unfortunatley this list is about discussion of issues specific to debian as a whole and not to discussion of one program or package.
