I am sponsoring a future maintainer whose package 'movixmaker-2' has its official priority set to "optional". This package depends on libconfig-inifiles-perl, of which the priority is "extra". OTOH, the policy states (section 2.5): "Packages must not depend on packages with lower priority values (excluding build-time dependencies). In order to ensure this, the priorities of one or more packages may need to be adjusted." Pascal Giard (CC'd in this message) is trying to be compliant with this, but any upload of the package makes the ftp system send a message stating that there is an "override disparity" regarding the priorities. Also, he has tried to contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] many times for 6 months but failed to receive any answer so far.
