Or at least SUPPOSED to work, when things aren't going the way it
should, tells me not everyone is playing ball in the same park.

I believe that kudzu and all them other hwdetect schemes out there
should also use this method then. You need to have a choke point that
everything else uses. All the stuff should be that way then.

If it is, it doesn't feel that way yet.
