   I suggest you read /usr/share/doc/pcmcia-cs/FAQ.Debian.gz:

o    The PCMCIA network interface is established too late in the boot
     procedure for my DHCP client.  Shouldn't the PCMCIA daemon be started
     earlier in the boot process?
