* Package name : aspell-pt-br Version : Upstream Author : * URL : http://people.debian.org/~rafael/br.ispell * License : GPL Description : The Brazilian Portuguese dictionary for GNU Aspell Actually, aspell-pt-br does not represent a new source package, but rather the result of the reorganization of two other packages: aspell-pt and br.ispell. I thought, though, that it would be better to have this reorganization registered somewhere in the Debian BTS, hence this "ITP" announcement. Here is the tale: I was once the maintainer of the ibrazilian package, which is now maintained by Carlos Laviola. I decided to re-adopt it and when I compiled the last (beta) version of the br.ispell source package, I noticed that an aspell word list was generated, which is better than that shipped with the aspell-pt package. In order to have the word list in br.ispell superseding the one in aspell-pt, the development of these two source packages must be coordinated. I approached Brian Nelson (the maintainer of aspell-pt) and he offered the package to me. I prepared an apt-getable repository for the new packages at: http://people.debian.org/~rafael/br.ispell The name of the package was chosen following the language code pt_BR. The name aspell-br would be not appropriate, since br is the code for the Breton language (spoken in Britany, France). If there are no objections, I will soon upload the packages to unstable. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux laboiss0 2.4.19-686 #1 Mon Nov 18 23:59:03 EST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US
