Chat Troubleshooting Tips

If you are a Windows PC user: Make sure that you have a recent version of Java. 
To view the version of Java on a Windows PC: Select "Tools," then "Sun Java 
Console." If the version listed is lower than 1.4.1_02, download Java at 
(www.java.com). Note: If you don't see the "Sun Java Console" listed under 
tools, you don't have the proper Java version installed. Go to www.java.com and 
upgrade Java.

If you are using Windows XP: First try upgrading Java as explained above. If 
that does not work, try performing a system restore on XP. Instructions on how 
to do this are located on Microsoft's Web site:

If you use a Personal Firewall: If you have installed a personal firewall, we 
suggest you disable it before entering chat. You can turn your firewall back on 
once you've entered chat. That way you can enjoy your firewall protection while 
still chatting.

If you are a Macintosh user: Mac OS 10.2/Jaguar users need to download the 
latest version of Java (1.4.1) directly from Apple: http://www.apple.com/java 
and use Apple's Safari Web browser in order to chat.
