Would it be possible to get rid of the need to install EMail (e.g. exim or sendmail) by default?
I think it is pretty ugly that the installation from scratch of Sid on my PC got stuck several times, because EMail is not correctly configured. I would prefer to avoid installing a local SMTP service at all. To do EMails I am using a POP, IMAP, or SMTP connection to a remote host.
