In addition, you should probably check the WNPP before uploading apparently unmaintained packages. In this case, you would have found that (a) makepasswd has been orphaned, so all this NMU verbiage was unnecessary, and (b) I'd filed an ITA, and a mail to me would probably have kicked me into action enough to finish adopting it, since I'd fixed all these bugs locally already.
