Hello, I noticed a few transitional and dummy packages on my system, but there was no common way to identify them. I think the following packages exist:
a) dummy packages which depend on the new name of a package for 1 - automatic updates after split or rename (e.g. xpdf-i) 2 - dependencies b) meta packages which depend on the actual version family (a lot of the python stuff looks like this) I would suggest/asume, that the a1 and a2 packages (at least) should have some common package description parts, and be in the same apt category? Is there a way I can get a list of those "you can remove it safely after upgrade (if no others depend on it)" packages?
