A change that closes a bug is a significant change that happened to that package since the last version I installed. I don't care wherever the source of the change comes from; I care that the package, as installed on my machine, is changed, and changed significantly (hey, I think bugs and resolutions are sigfnificant). The change needs be detailed in the changelog. > Well if the maintainer wishes to include more information, we don't > need to stop them. One of the things the BTS says that the bug is closed -- you shall be receiving detailed explanations from the person closing the bug. Not that you now need to go hunt around for the explanation. I think this is a good thing -- we provide explanations for why we are closing bugs. And we need to educate people not to tersely close reports, without the promised full explanation. manoj -- Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow, Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow.
