Hi all!
I build two packages converting the RPM provided by ATI for their RADEON video cards to a binary package with the XFree module, libGL and some tools and a source package for building a kernel module with make-kpkg. These packages are very similar to the nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx by Randall Donald.
Now i would ask you to test these packages and send me some feedback. Actually ATI just released some drivers for XFree 4.1 and 4.2. Because my job has a NDA with ATI. I already have newer versions of this drivers including XFree 4.3 support. As soon as ATI releases a new driver version, I will provide new packages for all XFree versions.
If you would like to get the packages you can add ~ deb http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/~mjung/debian stable ati to your sources.list. The sources for the packages are located here: ~ http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/~mjung/debian/src/ati/
The documentation and the copright information need some more work, but I will fix this soon.
