[resent - sent to wrong address the first time] Thanks for the hint. libpng12-dev does both replace and provide libpng12-0-dev, and manually selecting to install it solved my upgrade issues. It would be nice if somehow apt-get could do that automagically, but it is something I should have looked at earlier. Thanks again, Josh
