Because Debian isn't Red Hat, for one. If there's a port to $ARCH in Debian, it's because there are developers in Debian who want to support that architecture. I suppose at some point we may need to drop some architectures because they can't keep up (due to lack of developer interest), but that hasn't happened yet.
