Because it's not ready for unstable. gstreamer-plugins build-deps on 38 packages, at least 6 of which have constantly changing ABIs (and some, APIs). Because of this, it's not clear to me that it would ever have a chance of making it into testing without a lot of luck, and I'm making sure that the (non-DD) maintainer has the flexibility to drastically change the packaging if necessary. dave...
