The new binutils in woody surfaced a bug in the kernel that is mostly but
not completely fixed in kernel 2.4.17. A fix for your problem might be to
go to the "Networking options/IP: Netfilter Configuration" submenu and to
disable "Basic SNMP-ALG support".
