Hrm, I have 768 megs of swap, and watchdog is set up to reboot before OOM happens, which never did, so it is possible. In the case of a VM screwup, I'd like my box to reboot and send me a mail rather than let mysql die in the middle of a transaction and serve "database connection refused" pages to everyone until apache also dies.
