See 17 USC 117. at the bottom, it says: As long as you're not distributing the software, you have nothing to worry about. for the distributors, there is that other page that has some poorly written and seemingly too confusing wording in it. short answer: most djb code fails to meet the Debian Free Software Guidelines. -john
