MoiN I just found that some (398) packages which seem to be build from upstream sources contain a bad version string. e.g.:
adolc_1.8.7-3.tar.gz an_0.93-1.2.tar.gz an_0.93-2.tar.gz animals_19991226-4.1.tar.gz aolserver_3.0rc2-4.tar.gz apache-perl_1.3.12-1-1.24-2.tar.gz apache-perl_1.3.9-13.1-1.21.20000309-1.tar.gz apmd_3.0final-1.tar.gz apt-show-source_0.02-1.tar.gz autobook_1.1-2.tar.gz [...] According to the packaging manual, chapter 5, "the upstream-version may contain only alphanumerics and the characters . + - : [...] if there is no debian-revision then hyphens are not allowed". Because the above packages are upstream sources (really? At least the .tar.gz doesn't contain an .orig in its name) either the version of those packages or the packaging manual needs to be changed. Ingo -- "Disclosed Source" programs mean software for which the source code is available without confidential or trade secret restrictions and for which the source code and object code are available for distribution without license charges.
