That's a suprise, considering the problems I'm seeing. The system I attempted the installation to wasn't quite virgin. I did a new 0.93R6 installation to it about a week ago, and have since installed the development upgrades and some other packages from the 1.1 tree. I'll do a new 0.93R6 installation to a spare partition and try again on that installation. If I turn up any useful info, I'll communicate it to the X11 maintainer.
