My understanding of Ron's mail is the following: do nothing now and wait
for Stretch release to see what version could be packaged. I am not
thrilled by this option (but I rank it above the "do nothing" option).
There was no upload for 6 years. A new version could be uploaded in
unstable before the release and blocked by an RC bug. Or to experimental
like suggested.
