I believe my contributions to #329409 make my feelings on this issue completely clear.
However, for the record of this tech-ctte discussion, I firmly believe that devmapper should be built with the configure options I proposed and Roger Leigh provided as a diff. To do anything else violates the long-standing expectation of our users. Bdale
