If you feel you absolutely need this Debian package, you really need to move quickly and find someone to adopt the package. This can be a non Debian developer as long as (s)he fins a DD to sponsor uploads. >From my Debian Installer experience, display of Chinese at the console is currently not optimal, so this may still have some interest....as long as someone stills maintains the package.
