I don't know how you set the font. I have no problem with it. copy the /etc/mlterm/aafont to your ~/.mlterm/ and comment out the font for ISO10646_UCS2_1_BIWIDTH. run mlterm as % mlterm --km=UTF-8 --aa=true & for fixed width font, it is the /etc/mlterm/font. Read the manpage of mlterm. If you find any problem, file bug report. I don't use it.
