Package: cdrom Severity: important Tags: d-i Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? Install Jessie on UEFI laptop. Not sure if it's relevant but I also configured a guided install with full-disk encryption. Switching to virtual console 4 shows that after about 2 minutes a MCE hardware error is triggered. Other virtual consoles continue to work, but installer is hung. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Workaround by first installing Wheezy (at least get it to format the drive). Then Jessie installer works after Wheezy installer creates the partitions. * What was the outcome of this action? Jessie installer works after using Wheezy installer. * What outcome did you expect instead? Jessie installer should not hang while creating EFI-fat16 partition. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-cd-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
