Folks:

Newbie (to this stuff) here...

Here's my task: I need to put together an installation CD that contains a
few things for a router/telephony distribution...which brings up a couple of
questions:

   - What is (or where can I find documentation for) the *"right"* way of
doing a specifically configured build from which to create a .deb for a
specific piece of software? (I can certainly cobble together the results of
a build, but it seems there has to be a better -- i.e. more reliable
-- way). _And_ how do you build .udebs (vs. .debs) -- or is there no problem
with using .debs as part of an installation...
   - Is there an example out there of such a beast? (A _very_ limited
install -- basically "base" plus a few things where I would be managing the
   dependencies).

Any pointers would be appreciated! (And if I've committed a *faux pas* by
posting here, please let me know).

Many thanks,
