Frans, From the feedback of a lot of users, they really miss the ping, I always tell them about wget, but their reply is always something like: "wow! ping would be much easier/better". I learned to use wget and that's fine, but maybe if we change the point of view and think that ping is something that users like to use (instead of wget) why not add it? :-) Sorry if I'm missing something like (it is too big or too complicated), but I wouldn't think about the essential status of 'ping', instead I would try to see it as something that users would like to have (and expect to find), and afterall, we are trying to give the best for them. > Cheers, > FJP Just my two cents.
