Let's go back one step. Does Marco really want the ia64 CD, which is for Intel Itanium processors only and not for the far more common Intel 64-bits EM64T or AMD64 processors? If he does not have an Itanium system, but rather a regular modern 64-bits system, he should probably not try to install Sarge at all (as the Sarge kernel is unlikely to correctly support his hardware), but rather use one of the amd64 images from [1], and install Etch.
