Package: initscripts Version: 2.86.ds1-38 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss
When mounting a device on a mountpoint with spaces in it (say "My Book", this is the default partition name for a WD external USB drive), mount writes My\040Book in /etc/mtab (as does pmount and gnome-mount). On shutdown or reboot /etc/init.d/umountfs then fails to umount the drive with the following message: Could not find /media/My040Book in mtab umount2: No such file or directory umount: /media/My040Book: not found Thus the drive is not unmounted. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.20.3-orbiter.x86-64.1 Locale: LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii debianut 2.18 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii e2fsprog 1.39+1.40-WIP-2006.11.14+dfsg-2 ext2 file system utilities and lib ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii mount 2.12r-19 Tools for mounting and manipulatin ii sysvinit 2.86.ds1-38 System-V-like utilities Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii psmisc 22.3-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
