The tools are quite different, so an alternative is not a solution. Using a conflict would only solve the problem on short term. TAU has been using this name since quite a long time, and a number of 3rd-party tools and user scripts probably rely on that name. Since the Google tool is quite young (not at 1.0 yet at least), it is probably still possible for them to select a different name - say, google-pprof.
