Hi,

When upgradeing portmap, I get the following error:
Setting up portmap (5-23) ...
dpkg: error processing portmap (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 portmap
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

The problem seems to be this line of your postinst:
    pid=`pidof portmap`

I'm guessing the reason you don't get that error is that I'm using
a policy that prevents portmap from starting. But the code following it
atleast seems to be trying to detect if it's running too.

(I'm not sure this bug is specific to 5-23, but I never noticed this
before.)

Kurt
