Hi,

I tested fmit today on a native debian unstable
updated with latests packages today, on my
x86.

fmit works fine:

Free Music Instrument Tuner version 0.96.5 built at Sep 2 2006 15:25:55
Install directory '/usr'
CaptureThread: INFO: Built in transports
CaptureThread: INFO: JACK unavailable
CaptureThread: INFO: ALSA available
CaptureThread: INFO: Auto detecting a working transport ... using ALSA
CaptureThread: INFO: ALSA: try to set format to Signed 16 bit Little
Endian success
CaptureThread: INFO: ALSA: try to set sampling rate to 96000 failed
CaptureThread: INFO: ALSA: try to set sampling rate to 48000 success

This week, I tested fmit on 3 computers:
- An Apple iBook G3 (PowerPC)
- An AMD64 with Sound Blaster Audigy2 sound card.
- An x86 with a compatible sound blaster 16 bit sound card.

On all theses computers, fmit works fine. For you, it seems
to be a problem with alsa or libasound2.

Could you verify if all your system is updated with latest versions
of packages?

Regards
