Package: xtide-data
Version: 20040203-2
Severity: serious
Justification: makes package uninstallable
Usertags: grid5000
Hi,
During a piuparts run over all the packages in etch, I ran into a
problem with your package. Running those following commands in a clean
etch chroot:
apt-get install xtide-data
apt-get remove libice6 libpng12-0 libsm6 libx11-6 libx11-data libxau6
libxaw7 libxdmcp6 libxext6 libxmu6 libxpm4 libxt6 x11-common xtide
dpkg --purge libice6 libpng12-0 libsm6 libx11-6 libx11-data libxau6
libxaw7 libxdmcp6 libxext6 libxmu6 libxpm4 libxt6 x11-common xtide
dpkg --purge xtide-data
Causes the last command to fail:
(Reading database ... 7223 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing xtide-data ...
Purging configuration files for xtide-data ...
invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/xttpd not found.
dpkg: error processing xtide-data (--purge):
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 100

http://ox.blop.info/bazaar/buildlogs/20061114/
The piuparts run was done on about 40 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000
platform, using a clean chroot containing an etch i386 environment
(not unstable). Internet was not accessible from the build systems.
About Grid'5000:
Grid'5000 is an highly reconfigurable experimental Grid platform
gathering 9 sites and featuring a total of 5000 CPUs. It serves as a
testbed for research in Grid Computing. See https://www.grid5000.fr/

Changes:
xtide-data (20040203-3) unstable; urgency=high
.
* Serious Bug fix: "xtide-data: postinst purge fails: invoke-rc.d:
unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/xttpd not found.", thanks to Lucas
Nussbaum (Closes: #398521). I have edited xtide-data.postrm to check
for the existence of /etc/init.d/xttpd
* Bug fix: "xtide-data depends on xtide, xtide recommends xtide-data.",
thanks to Tim Phipps (Closes: #368958). I have removed the dependency
on xtide.
