I explain.

You have pre-RC1, he had RC1. Chkdsk may not worked in pre-RC1, only in 
RC1. So, you are maybe looking for a solution which is supposed to work 
only in RC1.

The same is true for not being able to boot. This may be solved only in RC2
but not earlier.

Currently the situation is like if we're trying to solve a problem in 
development kernel version 2.5.12 which nobody else could reproduce with 
the latest, stable kernels version 2.6.18.2.

Btw, still nobody could provide info related to the latast Vista. I guess 
it's time to disable Vista support due to lack of interest and to be on the 
safe side. We can continue investigating this problem when Vista will be 
more widely available.
