I have a similar problem, I have multiple desktops set up to use systemd-resolved as the resolver for dns over tls. I believe gnome depends on avahi which means I would be left unable to use systemd-resolved for dns over tls anymore. I've also convinced multiple people to use systemd-resolved for dns over tls as well, so I believe this would be really disruptive for me and those users as well. As always I appreciate all the effort maintainers put into Debian but I would plead that a different solution is used that doesn't involve removing the option to use systemd-resolved for every gnome user.
