Hi all,
Package: inn2,sm
inn2 and sm both attempt to install /usr/share/man/man1/sm.1.gz. This
may result in an unpack error from dpkg.
Looking at it, this is a recent change from the sm package.
In bookworm (shipping sm 0.26) and before, the manual page was sm(6)
whereas in trixie, sm 0.29 uses sm(1).
According to changelog:
screen-message (0.27-1) unstable; urgency=medium
* New upstream release
- Move sm from /usr/games to /usr/bin. Thanks to Josh Triplet
(closes: #1037113)
- Move manpage from section 6 to section 1. Thanks to Josh
Triplett.
Well, this said, I am always a bit confused as for the difference
between section 1 (user commands) and section 8 (system administration
commands). We have a mix of them in the inn2 package.
Does sm(1) for inn2 actually belong to section 1 or could it be sm(8),
considering sm is an administrative tool for the INN storage manager?
We have way more programs in section 8 than in section 1 currently in
INN. If our sm belongs to section 8, it would solve the problem of file
conflicting, but I wish to be sure what is supposed to be in section 1 vs 8.
