I am puzzled as to how I missed the OMPI_* environment variables in
debian/rules in
superlu-dist while grep-ing through the files.
I uploaded both superlu-dist and hypre.

Please have a look if that fixes it on your 1 CPU system.
There are still failures like

which are a mystery to us (Francesco and Drew).
Not sure from where the libmpi_cxx.so.40 dependency is coming in, and
I can't replicate it in my local build and test.
(libmpi_cxx.so.40 was removed as part of the openmpi 5 transition).
I don't know a lot about openmpi, but this would seem like a missing
build-dependency somewhere which made the transition (the rebuilds)
not to be done in the right order, making some packages to propagate
to testing too soon.
