Hi Colin, While working on this issue in parallel for Ubuntu, I noticed that setup.py contains a "test_suite" argument that affects the build. I have not noticed an actual issue due to that, only non-fatal errors in the build log.
I've opened a PR upstream: https://github.com/byllyfish/precis_i18n/pull/38 . It can be nice to have but I also don't think there is a need for a new version solely for that but wanted to supplement the bug report (NB: the patch would need minor changes due to upstream having used black since their last release). -- Adrien
