Hi Andres,
I submitted a merge request for the first step, the updated files from
the new upstream source.
This is my first attempt at a Debian package, so forgive me when I make
errors in the debian/ files. I will review what I have before I push
those changes through. Would you be able to cast an eye over them and
make suggestions for improvements when I do? And do you need the .dsc
file or will you generate that yourself?
This seems like a pretty simple package to maintain so I could be
persuaded to take care of it for you, but I am not a Debian Maintainer
or Developer. Perhaps I could funnel updates through you?

Sure, perhaps in two separate MRs though? One for the update from the
new upstream, and the second to update all the debian/ stuff.

Thanks for your response. The update involves getting the source from
a different project than the one in your version, so it means
changing all of the files, not just debian/. I do have a
freshly-minted salsa account. Perhaps I could fork your project, make
all the necessary changes to the source files and the debian/ files
and submit a merge request from that? (I've done a very limited
amount of work with git, more than enough to know there are gaps in
my knowledge of how best use git.)

Sorry for the delayed response. I was planning to orphan this
package, but I wanted to update it before I do that.
There is a git repo for the package here:
https://salsa.debian.org/dilinger/gnome-shell-extension-no-annoyance
If you can update that and submit a merge request for that, I'd
happily take your updates. Or, if you don't have a salsa account
and/or don't want to deal with that, a patch (diff -urN) of just the
debian/ directory.

I took the opportunity to learn enough about Debian packaging to
package the updated fork at
https://github.com/jirkavrba/noannoyance by taking a snapshot of
that repo and modifying the current files in debian/. The package
installs and runs fine on my own machine. I would be happy to
contribute this package but am a complete newcomer to the Debian
developer community and don't know how to best make the
contribution. I don't want to burden anyone with my ignorance, and
will happily follow any pointers, advice or instructions.
