Newest upstream release of async-process is v2.2.3.
Not sure why you need it - there is zero functional changes for for
non-android systems since v2.2.1 currently in experimental.

Ah, now I remember why I didn't update: recent releases of async-process
needs crate async-signal which is not in Debian.
I have not found time yet to pacakge async-signal - you or anyone else,
feel free to package async-signal.
There is no point in updating async-process, as that won't make the FTBFS
disappear.
I packaged async-signal; it's awaiting a NEW trip.
