hey, I have fixed these two bugs in an NMU which has been uploaded to tfheen's 7-day DELAYED queue on gluck. Though I know the db team's desire is to not ship db3 again in etch, this version will be an improvement in the event this goal cannot be achieved.
If you would like to accelerate this update's inclusion into sid you can of course either grab my upload from the DELAYED queue or rebuild it as an MU and upload directly to ftp-master. If you would like to prevent this upload from reaching unstable, you can upload an MU with a greater version within the next 7 days.
