Looking a little closer, this file looks like the only thing that changed. https://github.com/Keruspe/GPaste/blob/master/src/gnome-shell/prefs.js My guess is that enables the gear button in gnome-shell-extension-prefs to work. But I think gpaste offers a better way to access settings. gir1.2-gtk-4.0 isn't yet in unstable but since gnome-shell 40 depends on it, it will be in unstable soon and you probably don't even need to depend on it directly.
