thanks for this bug report. Indeed, the manpages and other documentation pointed to the wrong path. A fix with a patch 0026-correct-config-dir-in-docs.patch has been committed and will be included in the next upload.
In the future, please don't use 'critical' for documentation issues. Thank you.
